Tips for your first bookingUpdated 9 months ago

Preparing for your sitter's arrival

We understand it can be nerve-wracking leaving your children with someone new for the first time. Here's how we help ensure a smooth first booking:

  • Consider having your sitter arrive half an hour early. This allows you to introduce them to your children and observe how they interact firsthand. If it's bedtime, your sitter can read a story or engage in activities with older children, helping them feel comfortable quickly.
  • Some parents prefer staying close to home for their first Sitters experience. This allows you to return quickly if needed, offering additional peace of mind.
  • During the booking, feel free to ask your sitter to send you a text message for reassurance.

Sharing important information with your sitter

Upon their arrival, inform your sitter about any specific routines, special needs, or important details such as recent illnesses or medication. This includes feed times, favourite toys, bedtime routines, and any household hazards to note. Consider jotting down these details along with your contact information and an emergency contact number for easy reference.

While Sitters childcarers use their professional judgment, you know your family's needs best. Make sure to communicate any special requirements clearly to ensure a smooth experience.

Paying your sitter

Please pay your sitter via the app at the end of the booking. Sitters is 100% cashless, with all payments taken via the Sitters app.
