What if I return home early?Updated 9 months ago

If you return home much earlier than originally booked, we would ask that you take the sitter's expectations of earnings into account. We recommend that as a minimum you should plan to pay the sitter for the first 2 hours at full pay and for any subsequent hours booked (but not worked) at half the hourly rate. You will no doubt want the sitter to feel happy to return to your family when the need next arises.

We understand plans can change!  If you find yourself returning home earlier than expected, here's what to keep in mind:

  • Communicate clearly: Let your sitter know as soon  as possible that you'll be returning early.  This allows them to adjust their plans accordingly.
  • Sitter compensation: We value our sitters' time. As a courtesy, we recommend paying them at their full hourly rate for the hours worked (with a minimum of 2 hours at their full hourly rate). For any additional booked hours not worked, consider offering half their hourly rate.  This ensures fair compensation and encourages the sitter to be available for future bookings.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure a positive experience for both you and your sitter.
